Fishmongers Hall

Hugo Dalton has created a series of projected Lightdrawings for Fishmongers’ Hall following a residency with the world-leading Rothamsted Research.  The subject is the Camelina plant the first transgenic plant in the UK, it has been genetically modified to produce Omega 3 fish oil.  The aim is to commercially farm the plant and combat the dwindling natural resource that is an essential dietary component.  The Hall’s Greek revival architecture of the building forms backdrop and mirror to the biological quest for perfection.  Hugo used Rothamsted’s newly developed Knetminer as a graphic means to contrast with the architecture of the building. This project was then developed and exhibited at The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.
