Christies
Dancer Francesca Tennant, The Royal Ballet
Choreographic advisor Vanessa Fenton
An open rehearsal created for BFAMI. The intension is to give the viewer a close up experience of different art forms: Classical ballet is often regarded as unapproachable, cut off from its audience by the physically parameters of the stage. Similarly the act of drawing is a solitary occupation that goes unnoticed once the final work exists. The installation in the upper galleries at Christie’s allowed the viewer to experience both at close proximity. In so doing the work celebrates the journey rather than the end.
