Trinity Laban, 2016

This video installation was created to accompany a performance of La Mer by Debussy at Trinity Laban, London, played by the pianists Imma Setiadi and Nigel Clayton. The three overlapping ceiling projections use footage from the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne where Debussy completed the musical score having fled Paris following a scandalous affair. The imagery is a close-up of a service door in the hotel which bears the marks of trolleys and other knocks from daily life.
