Sadler’s Wells, 2009
Dalton was commissioned by British choreographer Christopher Wheeldon to create a stage set for his new ballet, ‘Rhapsody Fantasie’, set to music from Rachmaninoff’s two piano suites, with costumes by Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein. Dalton joined the company during their residency at the Vineyard Arts Project, Martha’s Vineyard where he drew them rehearsing the piece. These sketches were developed into a series of light projections for the performance by Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company at Sadler’s Wells and the subsequent US tour.
