Dalton spent two weeks in residence with the Atlanta Falcons American football team, having been invited to create a work for their new stadium.  He watched the players in practice, drawing them by using multiple pencils in one hand in order to capture their speed and dynamism. These drawings evolved into a large-scale, highly polished sculptural work. The strong lines suggest the players’ strength and determination; the fluid curves convey the grace and velocity of these athletes in action.
