Choreographics

These works originate from drawings produced in real time during live performances. The immediate, gestural marks generated in these moments are subsequently translated into wall-based metal sculptures. In this transformation, the material solidity and permanence of metal stand in deliberate contrast to the ephemerality and lightness of the performative events from which they emerge. Dalton’s practice is distinguished by an ability to register choreographic intention and spatial direction, rather than offering a literal or figurative rendering of the moving body. Through this approach, movement is preserved as trace, rhythm, and trajectory, extending the life of performance beyond its temporal limits.
